Are poker chips a good idea as game pieces? (homework)?!

Question: its for project. we had to make our own game boards. is using poker chips a good idea as game pieces, or would kids at school think im weird or w/e....im in 7th grade. if its not a good idea, wut could i use?..

poker chips r cool. if they ask what's up the poker chips just say i've been gambling in vegas.

You can paint the chips different colors

I don't see what's wrong with it. They are just circles of plastic. I used to use them to reward my son when he was younger for good behaviour. So many "poker chips" = some tv time etc.

if your that worried, you can substitute bingo chips.
