How does jacks face paint affect the others in lord of the flies?!
Question: Just to add to what has already been written above (great answers, by the way)
It gives him power, and removes his old personality. He recreates himself into a person of different moral structure. It depersonalises him and gives him a crude godlike status, and he is not necessarily a kind god, but rather one that must be appeased.

When jack paints his face, he is no longer Jack, he is a hunter. It's kind of like the KKK... they put on masks and think they can do anything. He becomes a sort of leader and over powers the others; he becomes a sort of ruler to the others and they cannot appose him because of the face paint. He becomes ruthless and it's only a matter of time before he starts killing people instead of pigs.
