This is without doubt my favourite Rolling Stones record ever, it was first released in1966

Here are the lyrics:-

The song is written by a person who is depressed and it represents his mood.

The song seems to be about a lover who has died.
"I see a line of cars and their all painted black" - The hearse and the limos

"With flowers and my love both never coming back" - With flowers from the funeral and her in the hearse and never comming back, and his heart being black because of her never comming back.

" I could not forsee this thing happening to you" - It was a sudden and unsuspected death.

"If I look hard enough into the setting sun, my love will laugh with me, before the morning comes." - This refers to her in heaven.

I think they are beautiful lyrics.

I love this song too. I was 12 when it was a radio hit. Report It
