How do I start a town newsletter?!
Question: How do I start a town newsletter!?
I want to start a town newsletter (it's a small town) so that we don't have to rely on a newspaper for the city that is 20-30 miles away!. It just doesn't cover the local info very well!. I have no education or experience in this area!. Where do I find the information!? If there are good college courses to take, please tell me the titles of these courses!. Journalism courses seem to be the obvious answer, but there are many at my local university!.

In order to start a newsletter, you have to be willing to go out there and interview people!. It's like being a real reporter or journalist!. If you see flyers for events around town, go to the event (ex!. walkathons, community theatre, fundraisers, opening of school, etc) and be prepared to interview some of the main people (those holding the event, those participating in it)!.
And also to help pay for the newsletter (if you don't want to pay for it all yourself), you go to local businesses and see if they are willing to help compensate for this newsletter!. Usually, if a business helps out, you'd provide spots (can be the back page or throughout the newsletter) for the business' advertisement!.
I'd do some more research on this and see what you can really do and hopefully make this newsletter a big success!. It's definitely a good way to spread news around and a good way to bring a community together!.
As far as taking a few classes to help you out, I'd see if there are courses on Intro to Journalism (can be at a community college), and Writing courses (such as Creative Writing)!. With Creative Writing, you'd learn the basic techniques to catch a reader's attention as well as many other methods and styles to use when writing!. Good luck!Www@Enter-QA@Com
