who opened room 237. i presume that the "crazy lady" didn't because she couldn't get out when Jack locked it again. and earlier Danny tried to open the room but it was locked. so someone went and got the key. Who? does it explain it in more detail in the book?

The book and the movie differ, but if I remember correctly it was Danny who retrieved the key in the book.
