Have to agree with the people who have already written, how can you miss something you didn't know about. I am a Harry Potter fan, which totally surprises me. I bought the first three books as a joke present for my husband for the holidays years ago. They were on sale, really cheap, and I bought them thinking that neither of us would read them. He opened his gift and got really excited and started to read the books. I had surgery right after that and figured, hell, why not give them a try, and was surprised, they weren't just kids books. Have now finished the series, and realize that the first few books were the best and am glad that they were written, but, would my life have been any worse if they hadn't been written, no, they didn't add that much, there are certainly a lot of books out there that have had a bigger impact on my life, these were just, as I put it, either beach reading or rainy day reading. They go in one ear and out the other. But mostly they are fun, sort of like Nancy Drew when you were younger.
