I need help with old Horror movie/tv show???

I am not sure if it was a movie or an episode from . In it the main guy who might be-John Lithgow plays the role of a man who spends one last night in his apartment (home?) with his wife and they start seeing things. They are having their last meal with some friends and he sees a bird in a cage in a mirror even though his apartment is almost empty. Then during the night they see the ghosts of an old couple who they believe are former tenants (owners?). The old man is mistreating his wife and he later kills her. THere is a part where the old man is dragging a coffin very slowly. In the end you find out that old couple werent ghosts but actually the "new" tenants of the place and that the other couple(Lithgow? and wife) are the actual "ghosts". Any ideas??

I got the answer ....It was from a show called Hammer's House of Mystery and Suspense- episode "In Possession"

It sounds like a episode of Tales from the cyrpt (an old HBO series). They had lots of shows like with those kind of storylines.
