Why don't the movie companies give you a refund when a movie is bad ?!

Question:

Why don't the movie companies give you a refund when a movie is bad ?

The Movie industry does not treat customers fair .
If i spent my hard earned $9.00 on a bad movie that a major movie company produced am i entilled to a refund ?
The movie companies have used tactics like fake reviews praising a film and commercials with actors as patrons saying how great that film was .
The government let the movie industry get away with such illegal schemes .
If the movie companies can do these things how come i cannot get my money back .
I am still waiting for my refund from that Fantastic Four garbage .

Thanks everybody for your opinions i have learned a lot from all of you .
The problem that i have with the movie going experience is that the movie industry will lie, cheat and steal your money .
At $9.00 - $10.00 a film it is not easy to say it's nobody's fault but mine that i did not like the film .
I had to work for that money and then i get cheated out of what i gave them .
I do not blame the theater manager it's the movie producers who sit around with this product and say how can we fool the idiots into buying this crap .
Movie companies scream at the top of their lungs over piracy when something is taken from them.
I have the same right when my money is taken from me .

Answers:

You're not entitled to a refund for a bad movie. Your ticket doesn't guarantee anywhere on it that you will enjoy the film you are seeing.

HOWEVER, if you complain to the manager (they're typically roaming the halls), they'll usually change your tickets for a different movie or give you a couple of passes for another day.

I've been to many a movie (Cruel Intentions, for example) that I've walked out of in the first 20 minutes and the managers usually have no problem exchanging the tickets. They're not really losing any money at that point, and (if they have any common sense) they'll realize it's more important to keep your business long-term.

The trick is to just keep a level head when explaining your disgust with the movie you're watching (don't get angry; they weren't the ones who made the movie, remember?). Also, you have to be willing to walk out of the movie BEFORE it's over (way before). You'll usually know in about 20 minutes if you want to stick around to see the ending.
