As a kid, there were several films that shocked me and became a legend in my favorite list of terror films: A Nightmare On Elm Street, The Exorcist, Hell Night, Friday Night. Even Mexican films like "El Libro de Piedra".
Later, new respectable films appeared like The Exorcism of Emily Rose, the Land of the Dead and The Ring.
BUT (and this is big BUT!!), last year I went to see the first film in YEARS that actually got me covering my eyes and not wanting to know anything more. All the audience were shouting like we were the ones dying, and at the end everybody was laughing so hard about our own reactions during the movie! It was great!!!!!
The film is called Shutter / They Are Around Us (2004), and is from Thailand. I strongly recommend it.
