i did understand the plot somewhat,
but i dont understand,
what was up with his daughter?
is room 1408 like where we go when we die?
how was she and his dead father there?

It's a Stephen King story honey, it all pulls together but it doesn't have to be completely understandable. Much of the symbolism is left to the readers imagination.

I think that the room played with the memories of the person in it, torturing them because it was truly evil.
