Conversations in movies?
English is my second language, I understand the words completely when people speak in real world.
When it comes to movies, I am not able to catch some words, it seems to me most of the times they whisper with out clarity. Do you all think its spoken differently in movies?
Answers:
In movies from the '30's until abut the 80's, actors spoke more clearly, and there wasn't the "realistic" background noise as in
movies of today (where the background sometimes drowns out the conversation).
When I've watched foreign movies with subtitles, it is very hard
to catch more than a few words here and there. It does seem that
they speak very quickly. Hang in, it will get better!
