Netflix: A good deal or a rip-off?!

Question:

Netflix: A good deal or a rip-off?

Have any of you ever used Netflix? If so, is it a good deal or is it a waste of money? How exactly does it work?

Answers:

Depending on your plan and how good you are at shuffling the DVDs in and out of the mail it can be a great deal. You choose DVDs from their website to get sent to you by mail. Once they arrive, you have as long as you'd like to watch them. When you're done you return them in their prepaid envelopes and within a couple days the next movie on your "queue" arrives in the mail. The most common plan is to have three DVDs out at a time, but there are many variations. How quickly you watch the movies when they arrive and how good you are at returning them once you're finished determine whether or not it is a good deal. If you're in the 3 at a time plan and watch those 3 in one week you spend around $18 to watch 12 DVDs a month, which is way cheaper than renting from a video store. Also, Netflix has a huge selection of DVDs to choose from and now offers viewable online movies through their website. Of course, you have to be a fairly active movie watcher for it to be a great deal, but even for a casual movie watcher it is usually a good deal. It has been great for me - I've been a member for 2 years now.
