Why do almost all film heroes kill somebody?
I was thinking the other day: almost all male hero leads in the majority of films kill somebody - normally by gunshot. Name me a male lead considered a hero that isn't also a murderer in most of their films? There aren't many..What does this say about us?
Answers:
For most action films, you are right. I think it means that we like to see the bad guy die. There are a lot of other kinds of a films that feature heroes who don't kill, even if they may not fit your typical definition of "hero".
