In the Good German George Clooney finds a journal the word Dota on cover what does that mean besides the game?

In the movie "The Good German", George Clooney finds a journal type book in "Lena's" apartment. On the cover of the journal is the word: Dota--written in cursive handwritting. It is driving me mad, that the only thing that comes up is a video game.!!! This word surely had to have exsisted long before the da*@ game. Concidering this film is set in 1946! After World War II ended! LOL , they sure as heck didnt have xbox etc..back then! Also it is set in Berlin. The only other thing that comes up is "San Gerardo de Dota" which is in Costa Rica. And They obviously named this place long before video games! Even so, I'm sure the word "Dota" must have meaning in their language also! And it is spelled like that. Not any other variation. Not "dotA"! I do mean "Dota". I would be grateful if ANYONE understands this. I'm disappointed that the internet can only come up w/ a video game, just because its the new cool thing. Surely this must have deeper meaning. So frustrating. ~Thanks everyone.

Okay hey all you smart people out there! Thank you, thank you! For the great answers. Well, I went back to the dvd and paused the spot the letters spell d o t a ..but as I continued through the film George Clooney states the name on the book as Dora! lol...Now I'm pissed because I feel made a fool..anyway if you look it clearly shows the letter ( t ). Hey yes Iam definitely going to read the book!..I hope when someone here who hasnt seen it yet sees what I'm talking about in the movie so that I can feel vindacated, on some level!..

I believe those were Emil's notes, with all his Rocket calculations in them. By the way- please read the book. I could barely watch the movie, they way they killed the book to give some additional screen time to the big name actors. The book is much, much better- and even more amazing- its a different killer, for a different reason. I still cant believe that they changed who the killer was for the movie.
