Question:

Moviequestion: HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON (Mario Bava Italy1967) - why he always murder his many wives?

and he remarries women over & over ? that is what I couldn´t udnerstand logically at the final scene. We saw that he is a psychopathic guy (played very well by the british long time ago star Stephen Forsyth)....

the topic is dedicated more to the older film experts.

thank you so much

Answers:

The main reason John Harrington kills the brides is because, as he admits at the very start, he's totally insane. But another reason is because he has a misty vision/memory of a staircase and a woman screaming, which are memories of the night his own mother was murdered. The vision gets clearer each time he sees it, so he's trying to recover as much as he can about that night.
