in the silent hill movie wat is pyramids head purpose or role in the movie. i never really got that part or wat hes doing there. by the way PYRAMID HEAD ROCKS!!!!!

For the most part, I think he was fanservice for fans of the games, but a couple of other possibilites are:
- He serves as another test for Rose, to make sure that she's strong enough and determined enough to do the job she's entrusted with later (helping Dark Alessa get into the church)
- He serves as one of Alessa's personal instruments of revenge (i.e. - Anna's "skin rip" scene), and as a "clue-giver" to Rose. Some people have pointed out that when Rose and Cybil were cornered in the school, Pyramid Head's sawing through the door with the Great Knife followed by the roaches swarming into the room was suggesting "penetration" (among other things), i.e. - Alessa's rape.
Who knows? Maybe all three.
