Why does a movie take so long to get to theaters?
im not talking about the production but after the production when everything is done it takes months till the movie gets to theaters. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was already finished in october but it didnt come out to theaters until july

Distribution has to be arranged to maximise the film's profit potential. Release date must also be timed to take advantage of the best markets, such as Xmas holiday and Summer vacation seasons.
