Is it a phobia?!

Question:

Is it a phobia?

I like watching English and Arabic movies, but sometimes i feel scared about some scenes like seeing some body lash another one.I feel terrified and i may cry.My parents never hited me and if they did it is not harsh.I remember that i have seen a movie that have this scene,it is always in my mind.I was young but i don't remember how old i was.Even when i say the word 'lash' i feel frightened. No one knows that.On the other hand, when i see an action movie or somebody kills someone i don't feel scared.I even like hororr movies and i don't feel frightened.

Answers:

A phobia is defined as something that actually effects your life or ability to live. In other words, if you are unable to function because of this then you need to seek help. It honestly sounds like a natural fear/disgust for something brutal. I think when you see movies the "kill" it is fake and you know it. For some reason the human mind just cant handle "torture" or other forms of the same thing (beatings, etc) Just try to avoid those situations and try to remember that it is fake. If it really offends you so then I would avoid it as much as possible.
