You should add here that other people's answers that are posted here are not free rein for someone to steal ideas, and they should not use this question to do so. That's a big risk for a question like this.

Anyway, I have two ideas going. One is about a teenage boy who is abducted by his non-custodial parent after the parent loses custody of him to relatives. After a round-the-world chase that makes "America's Most Wanted." After three months, the teen is spotted by a member of his favorite rock band (who loves AMW,) who at this point have just started their summer tour around America. After the teen is rescued and the parent is captured, the band decides to have the teen follow them around on their tour to protect him from being abducted again, until they reach his hometown which is at the end of the tour. This idea wold originally be a novel, but it's a good movie plot. We'd call this "The Protection Tour."

My second idea is about a newly-formed variety band (members representing different genres - pop, rock, alternative, country, jazz, R&B, hip-hop, etc - all in both hit singles and albums) who overcome criticism and ridicule to be the first successful band of its kind. We'll call this "Variety Band."
