Irony in movie age ratings and actors in the film?!

Question:

Irony in movie age ratings and actors in the film?

It seems a bit ironic to me. Movies have an age rating of 18, 15 etc so young people dont hear swearing and see violence.

But some films have children actors who are under the age rating. Have to listen to swearing during their part in the movie.

Also, is it illegal to show the child actor the movie that they played a big part in? (Im using the example of John Connor in Terminator. Im guessing he isnt 18 when he plays the part.)

Answers:

No, the law says that a minor can watch a film if accompanied by an adult; so the kids can see their own films.

The first time this question arose was decades ago, when Lolita was made with 15-year-old Carol Lynley. At that time, they wouldn't let her in to see the movie.
