Do you think I have potential?!

Question:

Do you think I have potential?

I'm 11 years old and I want to be an actress. No question about it. I don't care if you say, " No, your only 11" or " Your stupid" or whatever, because I'm going to be. My name is Emma, and you will hear of me! I want to auditon for something, like the new movie, " The Clique" based on the clique series. My parents aren't really doing anything about it, and I don't think they believe in me. I'm gointg to make it big, becuase I love acting and I love being heard. I think I could last in the business, so where should I start out? I don't think I could afford going to LA or NY, so maybe Texas or florida auditons? I live in the south, so something around here. Any ideas on how I could start? I want to be the next Hilary duff!!! Please ideas!!!

First up, always remember that not becoming an actress or not reaching the success you hoped for does not make you a failure. If it is something you enjoy, then you will continue to enjoy it and eventually you'll find a big break to build on your career.

However if you want to be a star for the big money it will create then prepare yourself, as millions of people throughout the world aspire to such a role only to find that a handful can actually make it big and sustain a career. Don't let the desire to become a millionaire consume you, keep control of it and you'll keep your happiness.

Also, many child actors find themselves unable to deal with the enormous pressure their fame brings them, and they crack, often becoming alcoholics or drug users etc. Don't give up if you fail in your pursuit of being a child actor, many would need time to mature to live the life they hope for.

I would suggest you be prepared to start off small, even on the small screen in your local area. Build your way up from there, but keep your dignity whilst doing so. You don't want to look back on your life if you succeed only to realise you resorted to the worst possible things to get where you are.

I would definately recommend you try voice acting first. Its easier to audition for as you only need to concentrate on your voice, not your movements when acting. Search websites in your local area for any projects which may need a child voice actor, and of course talk to your parents about it first! When you get some recognition, perhaps you can move on to the small screen.

I'm not American so I don't know the best place for you to perform. But all I can say is good luck!
