lil note after getting some answers: she LOVES movies that aren't for kids, lol. she gets so tired of the animated stuff. i already took her to ratatouille and she was pretty board asking to leave. and if we watch a movie together if it's animated she squirms around and doesn't pay attention. but the more adult stuff, like...she LOVES Bewitched with Will Ferrell and she LOVES Moulin Rouge and Dodgeball. anyways she'll sit there, totally focused trying to keep up. so im not worried about her being bored...just scared..

Answers:

My one to ten rating would probably be a bit to subjective to be any good. But I will say that I wouldn't take a four-year-old to see it. It's not violent, per se, but I definitely would classify it as too scary. There's some fights with magic that are more intense than what's been in the series previously, and Snape gets rather abusive toward Potter at one point during his lessons...Something that may not be good to show a child who may be about to start school in the fall. There's also some kissing, and one character does die.

Finally, the film has a lot of teenage angst that a small child just wouldn't be interested in. Most of the fun, light-hearted characters like Hagrid don't show up much at all.

I'd definitely advise seeing it yourself before you took her to it.
