In the movie 'The Island', is it just me, or was there several gross travesties !

Question:

In the movie 'The Island', is it just me, or was there several gross travesties in logic?

Specifically, the two cloned individuals seek help from their 'original selves' on the outside, expecting help, yet they know that their 'original self' needs the clones body parts to survive.
Why not go to an organization that is ethically opposed to cloning or a news centre?

Also, during the freeway chase, why did they send in the high powered flying motorcycle AFTER several cars had been destroyed by the runaway steel pipes. Why wasnt it sent in from the beginning since it would have such great mobility compared to the earth bound vehicles. Also, the flying motorcycle flew so close that MacGregor could give 'im a bit of a wack in the noggin. Why would they do that when they have firearms and can kill from a safe distance?

Answers:

First off, your big mistake is thinking a film like The Island would have anything logical in it at all. But, to answer your question, the clones know nothing about the real world, and are so naive that they think their original selves would help them. It's not necessarily a lapse in logic in the film, it's a lapse in logic for the characters. Which, can be explained, even if it does seem odd.

Also, maybe the people that sent the vehicles to capture the clones are underestimating them, hence making those blunders you mentioned.

Of course, this is a Michael Bay film, and he doesn't worry about such trivial things as plot or logic in his movies.
