I'm not 100% sure what you are looking for.. but, upon hearing a suggestion of his guilt the public at large (as well as the court procedings) truly believes he is guilty... They (for the most part) treat him like a criminal right away.. based on the power of suggestion.. The reporter has a hunch that there is more to the story, but even she starts out with that impression... So, her instinct was to look for more answers, everyone else's was content to just put the blame on him..

Other than that all I can think of is when she tries to commit suicide, even though it is her idea, she knows that her body will instinctually try to save itself by taking the bag off her head, that's why she handcuffs herself..
