In Waters "Pink" film(cult classic), was there any trick photo., or sly of hand in what Divine consumed?

This isn't a trick question. I just find it hard to belive that he really would(could!!!) do something like that. I'm guessing there was less money for independent films then?? All though I bet it was proportional too the amounts available today??

I have met John Waters twice and seen him lecture several times. He has always maintained that Divine really did eat the dog droppings. They had no money to make fake poop, and at the time, most of them were drugged out of their mind anyway. So it's all real!
