What costs more to make ; a fully animated 3D movie, or a Star Studded movie wit!

What costs more to make ; a fully animated 3D movie, or a Star Studded movie with special FX?
Answers:
Chicken Little has been estimated to have cost $60 million dollars to make. Compare that to Pirates 3 at $225 million (spent mostly on building real ships, I would imagine) or $270 million for all three LOTR films (about $90 million per film and spent mostly on location shoots and the excellent make-up effects, real weaponry, etc...) I think that a lot depends on the type of star-studded film you're making and if you are going to spend cash on 'simple' effects, such as explosions and such, or if you're spending it on big item things, such as those mentioned above.
