The cube, the Allspark is best described as a relic that can bring mechanical objects to life. In the film, exposure to the Allspark can both repair Cybertronians and convert Earth electronics and vehicles into Transformers. So, the thing is the cube IS not evil! But Megatron and the Deceps wanna use it to turn Earth's technology into more Deceps to rule the universe. The cube did come of good use though, Bumblebee has his voice back at the end of the movie.
