Pirates Of The Caribbean Questions----?

In pirates of the caribbean 1 Why do they always say Parlay to get themselves out of trouble--what does that mean for them?

And why in the end of the movie does Captain Jack Sparrow turn into a sceleton when fighting with barbosa in the moonlight? I thought he didn't have the curse because he was morroned on the island when the curse was put on the pirates on the black pearl?

And in pirates of the caribbean 2 at the very end how does captain barbosa come down from the stairs--the medalian was put into the chest along with will turners blood and he no longer had the curse of living forever and Captain Jack killed him--how did he come back to life?--

Thanks for all the detailed answers everyone---I understood that he turned into a skeleton because he had a piece of the gold but I didn't know if just holding it had made him cursed or if there was another reason! Thanks again and Saturday I am going to see the 3rd movie---Can't wait!

Did you fall asleep during the movies? Hmmm here's your answers....
1. Pirates had "rules" to follow..Thou Shalt not inflict harm upon any who invoke the right of "Parlay" After all Mates, we're honorable pirates, so Parlay Called and to the Captain of your ship they will be taken, no harm allowed, but that also means they'll come freely. Yup you read right, if they say Parlay you can't hurt them, but they are taken to your ship to meet the captain for whatever reason they invoked Parlay in the first place...Parlay is the french word meaning, "to talk".
2. Jack Sparrow picks up a handful of coins from the chest of Aztec gold, and counts the coins back into the chest; keeping one, in order to be able to fight Barbosa as an "undead", and possibly kill Barbosa.
3.The "witch", Calypso (Tia Dalma) brings Captain Barbosa back from the dead, (just like she offers the team to do for Jack.) We don't actually see this process, in the second movie, but we do see the team rescue Jack from the underworld in the third movie.
