Does anyone know the name to this 1980'ish scifi movie about...?

A scientist or researcher who is working on a combat suit or way to bring people back to life in order to make super soldiers? I'm not 100% that was the entire plot but bascially the scientist/researcher is killed/exposed and comes back in that manner he must wear a containment suit to keep him 'animated' and fights his killers etc. He also must deal with being dead and his wife/family.

He may have had to fight another creature like himself for the final showdown.

At the end of the movie a suit, that may have him or a likeness of him in it, is on display in a museum and his wife and daughter visit it after he finally wears out. The suit/corpse is shown as a heroe or honored for the man's contribution to whatever.
