This does not include the 68' TV comeback special or the two documentaries Thats The Way It Is and Elvis on Tour.
You know Elvis once said "You know, the worse thing than watching a bad movie is being in one".
He made some good movies but he was also very aware of the Hollywood fomula that made him sucessful and unfortuantely for him people wanted to see him singing, dancing and smiling - that was enough to get the cash registers rolling.
He knew it and hated it but was professional enough to turn up to work and honor his contractual commitments.
Once, a movie director had a scene where he wanted Elvis to ride a motorcycle whilst singing a song. Elvis was so unhappy about the integrity of this proposed scene and how it would come across. The director insisted so Elvis insisted his group at that time The Jordanaires sing backing vocals to which the Director asked where their voices would be coming from. Elvis replied "The same place as the band".
Elvis had good comedy timing and this relly came across in the film 'Follow That Dream'. This is the reason I included it in my top 5, he could deliver a dry line so very well.
If you are a fan the watch some movies - you know, even the bad ones can be good too - just as long as you dont expect too much from them. I also dont know any child that doesnt like an Elvis Presley film.
