What is the theme for the movie The Pursuit of Happiness?!

Question:

What is the theme for the movie The Pursuit of Happiness?

Answers:

The theme is that we live in a world with no guarantees. John Lock wrote of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Wealth but when Jefferson adapted the phrase to fit his need he knew that many Americans had no wealth and no reasonable expectation of gaining any but they did have a chance at happiness. In the movie the ain character has less than a good chance at becoming wealthy but he is resolute in his attempt to keep his son and him happy, regadless of how poor they were or where they slept or what they ate. They remained happy and that was what was important. The money was never a certainty and it just turned out that he made it. But if he hadn't it still would have been worth it to him to try. As he tells his son on the basketball court don't ever let anyone take that away from you even me. In short, always follow your dreams.
