Transformers Story?
I just saw the new movie WHICH WAS AWESOME, but i was wondering if i could get a little background from the tv series and movie. I heard that optimus prime dies, which kinda pissed me off. Could anybody give me a brief overview? and try not to copy and paste too much because i can do that myself.
Answers:
I will make it as simple as I can. Transformers started showing on tele in the US around 1983, but was still unpopular. It took some time before it became a hit and the pilot had to be re-aired. After the 1st season's success, the 2nd season proved superior with more episodes and the young cant get enough of Optimus and the Autobots.
It was in 1986, the movie was released. Though, a box office falure, it was still an important occasion in the Transformer universe mostly because of Optimus Prime's death. He battled with Megatron and managed to stop him but suffered extensive injuries, which killed him slowly. Many young boys was upset by this.
Two seasons would follow, includng Prime's rebirth but were never to match the the first two seasons.
