It's about 4 or 5 uni students that find an adandoned house, they move in. Shortly after they discover a marijuana plantation in the basement. They cut it down and sell it, the house owner then returns and they lock him in the basement.

The film is called - Scarfies. It was made in 1999 and was set in Dunedin NZ.
'Scarfies' is the local nickname given to University students.
