Why does The Sun shine?, Are the stars just pinholes in the curtain of night?!

Question:

Why does The Sun shine?, Are the stars just pinholes in the curtain of night?

Answers:

That was in "Highlander'', wasn't it?

I can't help being reminded of the song, "Why Does the Sun Shine", recorded by They Might Be Giants but originally written for an educational TV show:

"The sun is a mass of incandescent gas
A gigantic nuclear furnace
Where hydrogen is built into helium
At a temperature of millions of degrees"

Of course, reading the lyrics doesn't compare to hearing John Flansburgh sing it accompanied by John Linnell's accordion and a glockenspiel. You should hear it if you haven't. I think their original version of it is only available on an EP, but the high-energy, punk-rock-influenced live version on "Severe Tire Damage" is fun too.
