Question:
Legality of streaming movie files?
i watch a ton of movies in theater, and tv shows online, but on websites that stream them within the window.....can you get in trouble for this?
i know that they are VERY STRICT about downloading files and have people hired to monitor that, but can you acually get in trouble for watching a website that has it streaming?
Answers:
It all depends on who is hosting the stream. If it's the copyright holder it's fine, they put it up there for you to watch. Example: If it's a TV show on the network's site, it's there because the copyright holder wants you to watch. If it's a movie that opens in theaters next week it's generally going to be illegal.
