My Photo clips are showing clear in the task column, but when I put them on the storyline, they become distorted, does anyone kno how to fix this problem?

That's Movie Maker just saving on memory space while you work with your files. It'll look fine again after you run your mixdown.
The way Movie Maker (and most other NLE programs) works is when you put the various elements into the timeline, you're putting in placeholders for many different files. When you run this back in editing mode, it would take Movie Maker's engine too much time and memory to load and run individually at high resolution, so Movie Maker switches it to low resolution just so you can get a sense of what it will look like with the proper timing. When you do the final mixdown, Movie Maker converts the many different files into a single file (.wmv, .mov, etc.) and restores the resolution of the images.
