Did you like the movie Babel?!

Question:

Did you like the movie Babel?

Did you think that it was a good movie or did you leave wondering how they blackmailed Brad Pitt into starring in it. I personally have seen better movies made by college students for a class assignment. Until this movie, I though that the worst movie ever made was the Village. All I have to say is WTF!

Answers:

I couldn't agree more! I did not like it AT ALL. I was warned by my best friend that it was slow, so I even fast-forwarded thru most of it with the subtitles on so I'd know what they were saying. There were so many long scenes with little to no talking that I kept pressing play thinking I was missing some subtitles, but no. I wasn't. They just weren't talking!! OK, for those of you out there who analyze movies, I do get that the whole not talking thing was the point - had the characters communicated better (regardless of their ability to hear, we can all communicate in one way or another), they wouldn't have found themselves in the predicaments they were in, but come on! 3 hours of movie and only about 30 minutes of dialogue??!!! WTF is right!! Some may say that by fast-forwarding throughout the majority caused me to lose some of the effect, but I say it helped me keep my sanity. I only had it on the first or second speed, so it still took me about an hour and a half to get through it. I don't think I would've stuck it out had I not FF through at least some of it.

If you haven't watched this movie, don't waste your time. If you must see it, watch it on a DVD player that speeds up movies without having to FF it. My friend has one that skips frames here and there to speed up the movie without removing the dialogue. I wish I had that kind of DVD player - I would've used it for this one, that's for sure!
