'Young Frankenstien' Question-10 points for Best Answer.?!

Question:

'Young Frankenstien' Question-10 points for Best Answer.?

Well, we've all seen 'Young Frankenstein' directed by Mel Brookes right? Well, does anybody know of the context (the things that were happening when they decided to make the movie, which acted as influences upon them), can anybody help me find this?

Generally things about, science, parenting and 'Are we born evil, or are we made evil'

E.g In 'Frankenstein' by James Whale, there were people conducting brain tests, and because of that, he made his monster mindless.

Answers: Young Frankenstein is my favorite movie of all time...Wikipedia has some good info on the movie as well as 70s.fast-rewind.com.
I have seen the movie so many times (I was 15 when it came out) that I can quote most any line from it, and know a lot of the "trivia" about it.
I can tell you that Mel Brooks was adamant that his movie be made in black and white..so much so that some studios refused to make it because of that...I'm glad he held out and had it made the way he did...
Since Mel Brooks is known for "parodies" of history and art, I seriously doubt there was any other reason for him making the movie than that he liked the story and felt it would make a funny movie... Try www.IMDB.com I think you are reading too much into this movie. It was just a comedy. There was no social impact nor was it a commentary of any kind. Just a spoof of the original Frankenstein movie. Actually, I heard Mel Brooks say in an interview that the inpiration for the film was that the original props (the lab equipment used to animate the monster) from the 1930 film were found in some guys garage and Mel had a chance to buy/lease them!
