Did anyone here really like "Land of the Dead"?
I didn't think the movie was bad, but it was missing something for me...Just curoius what others thought.
Answers: The so called "Super Smart" zombie kinda got old real fast...and I think they never really showed the "leader zombie" eating anyone..he killed people but he used guns and gasoline bombs. It just kinda took away from the whole zombies are just slow, mindless, flesh craving ghouls. Still thought it wasn't bad, I love Romero flicks and this one was long over due It was entertaining! Just, nothing special?
For me the Zombies were too intellectual! FOR ME ITS OK AND ENTERTAINING. I missed the drive by shootings I liked the "evolving zombie" aspect, but was disappointed by the overall feel of the movie.
Too many contrived moments (moron listening to music instead of paying attention to his surroundings) made it feel like it was made in the 80s. Did the writer run out of bar napkins when writing the script? Did anyone check continuity? I wanted to like it, since the other 3 in the series were enjoyable, but I can't.
I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone. to tell you the truth i didn't really think any of the George A Romero zombie films where that great except for the classic Night of the Living Dead. Land of the Dead was ok it was amusing, funny and partly clever. I would have really loved to have loved this film but like dawn of the dead and day of the dead it wasn't brilliant. disappointing because Night of the Living Dead was just so good I enjoyed it for what it was. Generally I go to zombie flicks for a bit of mindless fun, not intellectual stimulation. It certainly wasn't high art, but it was a good time.
