never saw this one , i guess i gonna look for it , since you recommend it :) I was utterly moved and fascinated with "World Trade Center." Compelling acting, and a great story that we all can relate to. I definitely can relate to this one. Patton, Walk The Line, Schindler's List, Sweet Dreams Sad but true Life with Billy Canadian movie about a man who abused his family and then his wife killed him - He was rotten. Sad to say had to watch and then do a book report on it - Got an A minus. A Beautiful Mind The Buddy Holly Story (1978)
Gary Busey did an amazing job bringing this pioneer rocker to life. He sang the songs and actually sounded very much like him, unlike many I can't say the same for in recent films. He lost weight to capture Holly's look.

84 Charing Cross Road (1986)
A New York writer and a British bookseller correspond for many years. I love this film and have watched it more times than I can count. It always makes me cry.

Catch Me If You Can (2002)
I was so impressed with Leonardo DiCaprio in this role that I could overlook Tom Hanks' presence.

Sergeant York (1941)
Gary Cooper won an Oscar for this film about a war hero whose story is so amazing that Hollywood couldn't have made it up.

I Love You to Death (1990)
This is definitely a black comedy; it's about a woman who her philandering husband should die.

Helter Skelter (1976 TV miniseries)
It's hard to believe that this was made for television; it's better than most things that get to the theater. It's about the Manson Family trial, and Steve Railsback is absolutely brilliant as Charles Manson! Surprisingly, he managed to avoid being stereotyped. It's tough subject matter, and the writing, directing and acting are top notch.

The Birdman of Alcatraz (1962)
Burt Lancaster was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Robert Stroud. People are still arguing about the character interpretation, believing they made him too nice, which I can't really see. Whether it's entirely accurate or not (few biographical or historical films are), it's fascinating and worth seeing at least once though I have seen it innumerable times.

Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942)
This is a delightful musical about the prolific songwriter George M. Cohan.

There are so many more that I can think of; it's really difficult to decide. Blow
Goodfellas
Texas Chainsaw Massacre- The Original one not the Remake goodfellas and casino
just like to meantion, texas chainsaw massacre is not a true story film. it never happened. Fargo, I feel, is pretty good, although I wish it wasn't a true story. One of the best that hasn't been mentioned. "Brian"s Song" (1971) made-for-TV movie. James Caan, Billy Dee Williams. 1.300
2.Titanic
3.Blood Diamond
4.Monster
5.United 93
6.Gangs of New York
