Ok I don't get this!? On the newer version Peter Pan [the one with real people] and Rachel Hurd-wood as wendy and jeremy sumpter as Peter Pan, on youtube there this one called Peter Pan- we might as well be strangers and there he comes back and wendy is all grown up- but that's not anywere in the movie- I just wathched it to the very end even the credits and it's not there at all- is it on another tape or somthing? Look at the one on youtube to. Thanks!
Answers: It was deleted ending. You can see it as one of the features on the DVD. Some would think it would be too hearbreaking to children to watch. That's how it was in the book. Commercial movies tend to avoid what producers consider to be bad endings. The original does have Peter returning to visit and finding Wendy's daughter whisks her off to Never Never Land, of course in the process he discovers she has grown up, that proves to be too much for him.
I suggest you read the original story. We tend to get too much of our information from watching movies, which are a far cry from the real story. Also, read something about the social customs of the time and you will understand the context. The movie was a lot about growing up, something many kids refused to do, and of course girls had to do quickly, and leave the nursery because they had to train for marriage.
When in doubt, go to the source. Movies are sadly lacking in detail. it isn't on the vhs....it's on the dvd...it's in the special features with the alternate endings....
