Are horror movies starting to cross the line between being entertaining and just!

Question:

Are horror movies starting to cross the line between being entertaining and just plain disgusting.?

Answers: YES. horror movies used to be fun and entertaining, but now they are about, cutting off body parts and showing guts and blood. i dont even watch them anymore. This question is coming from the Fart Machine? :) Yes, some horror are gross, but some are still well done. No not really.Mainly they are just starting up a new horror style.Like saw for example, they aim to make people scared of waking up in a room in chains...or something.People will now be even more afraid of getting tortured and will think it more likely of happening. But in my opinion,no gore film or horror movie is ever gonna be good enough to disgust or scare me. horror movies just arent the same anymore.. its basically not even horror anymore but more of a gore suspense movie instead. horror movies are made to scare and gross poeple out. today all the movies just seem to be about is gore .. which i love gore but i also miss the scare... I'm a huge horror movie fan and I'm definitely getting tired of the torture films like Hostel and Saw. I don't mind blood and guts but I don't see any value in the aforementioned movies. I love bloody movies like the Romero Dead series and the old Italian Horror films but the just strait up torture genre is getting old. Yes..from me..Horror movies have turned from creepy and suspense, jump in your seat fun to the "Let's see how I can gross you out with Gore/Violence. Let's face it...the films that are coming out have not ideas or originality. Saw had a good plot and it kept the audience guessing throughout the whole movie.

Where as Hostel was more naked chicks and lets see how many body parts I can dice and make you sqeam....thats been down so many times...you get bored with it.

They are deeming these kinds of movies: "Torture/Porn" films. Of course. Take Hostel for example, you think the poeple of our generation are scared by 'The Exorsist'? Heck no, if anything its considered a comedy now. So in order for horror movies to keep up with the times they need to go above and beyond what the demographic (usually younger people) are use to seeing, and as sad as thet is, what the younger people are use to seeing is blood on the news as well as every other horrible thing our wonderful society provides. http://lnk.in/58qj Hollywood follows the money. Movies like Saw, Hostel, Wolf Lake, etc., are comparatively cheap to make and bring a huge return. So as long as people are willing to spend multi-millions on this torture/porn crap, they'll keep making more, and worse.
