The violence is so excessive it tends to be comical, and is not disturbing like more realistic violence can be. The beasts, freaks, and monsters probably would not bother a 14-year old. There are a few adult scenes, including some mild sexual conduct and nudity, but nothing shocking or excessive. In fact, its rather tastefully done.

The most disturbing part of the film is the 300 half naked men running around.

In total, most 14-year-olds could handle this movie, and have seen worse elsewhere. If he's a sensitive kid, or if his parents are uptight, you might want to think twice. 14 is an iffy age to guess at. It's pretty violent, but the gore almost seems cartoonish. Have you ever seen Sin City? It's like that. Same type of style and about the same rating in gore too. It's a VERY violent film. Base it on his maturity level, and if you would let him see Sin City (which is just a bit worse actually) then this movie will be OK.
I think I would wait until 16 though, again, depends on his maturity level and I would make sure it's OK with his parents.

It is SOOOO good though. You will love it. I thought it's been one of the best of the year. And you HAVE to see it in a good theater, it makes it so much better. are you joking lol? hes 14 i think he can handle it I think a 14 year old would have seen most of this stuff before...There is A LOT of violence/blood/gore and some sexual scenes with some nudity. umm it has a naked lady in it and its reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaalllllyyyy... bloody not just some gore its all gore like theres maybe a couple scences with out blood but its really bloody. but thats about it its really cool. just be catious about it. It's pretty gory and there's nudity in two scenes... but based on his maturity level, it will probably be ok
