Why is Kathy Bates so good as a Psycho type?
Answers: because she's such an average, next door neighborly type person. she was so great in misery. i don't know but the same can be said about Anthony Perkins Because she's normal, and normal people are psycho...? Because she main charcter that fit that profile they were looking for as a psycho type. I don't agree she is good as a "pscho type". She is just a very good actress. She was in Titanic and I thought she was excellent there too - and certainly NOT a psycho role there.
I have seen her in other films - names which escape me right now. But I like her talent a lot. Because she looks like a school teacher, someone who cares and would take care of you. Everyone in grade school knows their teacher is silently a psycho and would chop you into pieces if the school would let them......Ha Ha Ha The reason Jack Nicholson is no good is that he always looks manic.
