Answers: I remember that movie. I loved it. It was Disney. It came out in 1994. It had Jason Scott Lee, Lena Headey, John Cleese, and Sam Neill in it.

Although I know you probably are referring to the more-recent film, I want to mention an amazing movie that is the first version of the Robert Louis Stevenson novel:
"Jungle Book" (1942) is brilliant! It stars Sabu, who really was from India. To me, it is far better than the other live-action films. It captures the fantasy element so beautifully and is especially remarkable because it does not rely on modern special effects, instead using full-scale models of some of the creatures.

Jason Scott Lee starred in the more-recent version (1994), and he does do a good job though it looks as if he borrowed more than a little of his approach to the role from Sabu.
