I need a 2-3 minute scene from a movie for acting class, details below.?!

Question: Dialogue heavy, a male and female role, "cliche" american accent, no adolescent or elderly characters. My main problem is my partner and I don't know eahcother well and don't seem to share much of our taste in films. I'm into scifi, action films, summer blockbusters, and a few foreign films and anime. I love things like the Matrix Trilogy, Fifth Element, and Kill Bill. From what we've discussed so far she likes period films, a lot more foreign films than me, and things like Sideways. She seems to not like the "popular" types of films. I am fine doing a scene from a movie I don't enjoy or haven't seen, but I would prefer one that was more entertaining, compelling, or peculiar. Her suggestion is a scene from Sideways where two of the characters are talking about their tastes in wine with an undertone about their relationships. This might be an okay scene, but I know nothing about wine and neither will most of our class. I'd prefer something more accessible to everyone.

How about something from Heathers? Dialogue between Winona Ryder and Christian Slater--it's not too adolescent, not too serious, lightly funny.

Or do Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz in A Life Less Ordinary--i'm sure she'll like it.
The original Rocky movie.

Pure classic. ;)

Scene:
Rocky first meets Adrian.
Did you see the movie Traffic? You can choose the scene with Naomy Watts is dealing with Sean Penn.

I like good movies so I think that will help.

Take care!
mabey try something from Elizabethtown? it's something that your partner might enjoy and that other people in your class might get
Try something from gargen state with natalie portman and zach braff, there is a great scene in the first fifteen minutes where the two first meet.

Could even work because you and you partner do not know each other to well.
well, this is a tough one. Hmmm... have you tried THE HOLIDAY? i don't know if that would do as only one of the couple has an american accent. or you could actually try IN HER SHOES when Rose was dating Simon ! or BECAUSE I SAID SO.
I hope this information has helped you.
wine is great! :) :) i can understand her not wanting to do something that mainstream, but maybe you can compromise on something more classic.
I would go with In Her Shoes - the scene where Simon is going to break up with Toni Collette's character (can't remember the name) b/c she won't talk to him about her sister and he can't deal with the fact that she could talk to this other guy and he had been patiently waiting for her to finally confide in him.

You get to show some anger and confusion and it's enough of a different movie that she should like it.
