Fantastic 4: rise of the silver surfer, just came out and is really good. (Rated PG - Action).

Some other good movies are Disturbia (Horror) or Wild Hogs (Comedy).. (both Rated PG-13).

Some kid movies (Rated PG - Comedy) that recently came out are Are We Done Yet? and Unaccompanied Minors.

Evan Almighty (Rated PG - Comedy) looks funny and comes out tomorrow, and course Transformers (Rated PG-13 - Action) on the 16th looks like a winner.
True Lies
You, me, and Dupree. Good movie! FUNNY
Bad Santa. Very funny movie.
the goonies
Field of Dreams, or Eight Men Out.
My family enjoyed the remake of The Shaggy Dog with Tim Allen - good for the whole family

We also enjoyed the Cheaper by the Dozen movies with Steve Martin

And RV with Robin Williams

all comedies - all family appropriate - all funny
'A Night At The Museum'. It's a fairly funny, inoffensive film.

Or, if you want an intelligent action film, try the fantastic 'Deja Vu', which is a great action film and was rated 12 in the UK so is quite tame.

To the earlier poster who suggested Bad Santa, that's a great film but about as far away from "family entertainment" as you can get if memory serves me right.
apna sapna money money ,lagey raho munna bhai
The Sound Of Music - fun for everyone

Gone With The Wind - maybe not great for really small kids, but still appropriate for everyone

Star Wars - such a classic!

The Wizard Of Oz - kids will love it

King Kong (2005). Again, maybe not for really little kids but fine for 12 and up, I think.

Those are the ones that come to mind right now, although I am sure there's pleanty of other great choices. My number one pick for a family film would be Sound Of Music because while its a great film for young people, adults will still really enjoy it too.
