How old is old? This is a long shot, but I know a film that has scenes rather like this. It's a science fiction film titled "Phase IV", in which ants' intelligence has been increased. Instead of the usual giant ants, they begin to communicate among themselves and mutate.

In one scene, a young girl, stamps on the ants, mainly to get them off of her because they've attacked and killed her horse. Later, she is in a large chamber the ants have built, emerging from the sand to join the young man who also has been captured.

This probably isn't at all what you're looking for. I don't know your age, how old the movie might be, whether it's live-action or animated, etc. You might be talking about a children's film. They're right: It does sound like the recent "Ant Bully". Hmmm... Let me check on something.
