I love watching the classics like "Ben-Hur" and "The Ten Commandments". But, my favorite recent religious movie would have be "The Seventh Sign" with Demi Moore. Because, it dealt with some many aspects of stories in the Bible and how they are interpreted by other religions (namely Judaism in the movie).

I found the two versions (silent and talkie) of "Ben Hur" to the best all-round biblical/religious movies. The book was an instant best -seller back in the 1880's when it was written by US General Lew Wallace, and both film treatments are true to the novel!

That being said, the two versions of "The Ten Commandments" are also top-notch!
