Answers: Pick a movie that you have no intrest in the movies plot or the type of movie (chick flick, love story, war movie) because one of the females or males in it is very hot?

I watch any film that has Ashley Judd, Jessica Alba, Kate Beckinsale and a few others. I dont care if it is a horrible movie or not. I was wondering if anyone else does this

All the time...I like random actors/actress so I pretty much rent the movie if I really like them. Kate Winslet, Claire Danes, The Rock, Tom Hanks.

My favorite thing to do at the movie store is pick totally random movies in the "not new release" sections. Especially stuff I've never heard of.

Sometimes I end up with movies I'd never get under scrutiny as I hate actor so-in-so, but end up liking the movie or some aspect of it.

I do this because sometimes I am horribly disappointed with "hey you should watch this, it was great" blah blah blah from friend X... or the cover says "best movie of the year"... if you live in the deep woods and thats the only movie you'll see (? wtf is with critics lately)... or (most sad for me) I pick a movie with an actor I LOVE LOVE LOVE... and the movie sucks.

Everybody's gotta pay rent.

of course! haha. everyone has ppl that they admire in a way. and its fun to watch those ppl that you admire. i'll watch anything with jodhi may! most ppl dont know who she is and sometimes she'll star in movies im not interested in plot-wise but i dont care, i wanna see her and her performance. haha.

As far as the actress being "hot", no. But if a particular Actor/Actress that I really like in IN the movie I will, but just because of their acting ability.

Examples:

Actors - Giovanni Ribisi, Tom Hanks, Gary Oldman, Edward Norton, Brad Pitt, Ethan Hawk, Michael Biehn.

Actresses - Carrie Anne Moss, Uma Thurman.

Well, it would depend on the actress/actors.

I tend to do that sometimes. BUT that is because I have seen them in films which are REALLY GOOD (and their acting is really impressive) so I somehow also "presume" that this movie (which I have no idea what exactly yet) would also be as great as the others they were previously in.

But other than that, I really look for movies that are substantial and are worth spending my time and money.

I'll pretty much watch anything with Sam Jackson, because he's me favorite actor--I even enjoyed "Snakes On A Plane".

I do this as I like specific actors/actresses and or directors. Like I really enjoy watching Steve Buscemi act but he has been in some duds. But I used to do the random rent thing too but now we do the random buy DVD's since it is just as cheap in my area. Movies I think oh what the heck it might be fun

I'll admit to doing this a lot. Thank goodness, I like a lot of actors and actresses. If I don't like someone, I generally avoid it unless I finally become too curious.

I've taped practically everything Richard Lynch appears in, and he's been in some awful movies. But, I'm a dedicated fan, and I want to see him act because he'll generally be the best person in it.

I completely understand and do not think there's anything wrong with it except this: What if you're missing someone new? That can happen. I've put off watching a film then been delighted that I "found" someone new to add to my favorites list. Also, you might have missed an earlier role of one of your favorites; that, too, has happened to me. Some people will watch a film that a favorite has a small, early role in, even if they don't care for the rest of it.

So, consider that you might be cheating yourself, too.

Not usually, but after I saw 300, I now want to see every film that Gerard Butler has ever made. From what I have read, he has had some pretty steamy movies/scenes.
